Robert Altman

Robert Altman is the director of M*A*S*H, Nashville, The Player, Short Cuts, and Gosford Park, for which he received Academy Award nominations. In 2006, he received the Honorary Award by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for "a career that has repeatedly reinvented the art form and inspired filmmakers and audiences alike." He recently directed the critically-acclaimed A Prairie Home Companion, a box office success. He has directed 39 films, produced 29 of them and written 15 of them.
