Adele Alexander

Adele Logan Alexander is a scholar on African American history and women's studies. She is the granddaughter of Adella Hunt Logan of whom she was named after. She is the mother of Pulitzer Prize-winning HBG author Elizabeth Alexander (The Light of the World, 2015) and the wife of Clifford Alexander, the first African American US Secretary of the Army. Adele is a graduate of Radcliffe College and Howard University. Her work as been featured in Ms., The Washingtonian, and The Washington Post.
